Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts is a casual vision as he covers the spring 2016 issue of Men’s Fashion. Schoenaerts takes to the streets of New York for the cover image. Photographed by Filip Van Roe, the star of A Bigger Splash, Schoenaerts is captured in a straight-cut pair of denim jeans with a casual tee and sports jacket.
Talking to the magazine about carefully choosing his projects and artistic integrity, Schoenaerts shares, “An artist has that responsibility; I know it’s very pretentious to say, ‘I have created something that is really valuable.’ But at the same time, if you do something, make sure it has your heart in it, because that’s the only thing worth sharing.”
On the extremes he would go to for the right project, the 38 year-old actor explains, “It’s like with love, if you’re crazy about something, you’ll swim the ocean for it. All the effort you put in doesn’t feel like effort. The beauty of that is you’re doing it all for someone else.”
