West Coast Boy–The eclectic mix of downtown New York tailoring of the 80’s and the native West Coast skater/surfer was the inspiration behind the Topman Design spring/summer 2013 collection. Slim-fit jackets were teamed with narrow shorts in almost neon sporty abstract florals, and neoprene shorts peeping out from under above the knee tailored shorts. Details such as laser cut polka dots, adorned suede bombers and loose box-jackets which were layered over one another in contrasting block colours. T-shirts cropped to the waist were teamed with very loose-fitting pleated shorts in bright block colours. Statement accessories include ankle laced brogue boots with cutout panels, oversized vivid backpacks complete with skateboards and crazy bright sneakers. Overall a very energetic, youthful and eye-catching show. / Words by Kenny Ho, Fashionisto London Fashion Editor.
