Evoking Autumn–For the fall/winter 2013 edition of London Collections: Men, Richard James takes us for a winter stroll outdoors with a collection inspired by Park Life. Starting with a gentle palette of oatmeal, camel and sky blue, then progressing into richer colors of plum, moss and turquoise, there were unstructured, double-breasted outerwear and refined tailoring in colour-flecked Donegal, Price of Wales checks and rich velvets. Knitwear was chunky and textured with flecked and abstract cable knits paired with matching bobble hats and velvet trousers. More unusual pieces included a blazer tailored from a patchwork of green tweeds and flannels, a hooded jacket made from brown sheepskin, and a bomber jacket made in tweed. Elegant eveningwear included slim, shawl collared tuxedos in fine two-tone suiting. / Words by KENNY HO
