Lucas Ossendrijver explores a series of contrasts for Lanvin’s spring-summer 2019 collection. The Dutch designer references contrast such as night and day or soft and hard. Proposing a juxtaposition of casual and formal, Ossendrijver delivers a collection with strengths that rest in the details. Revisiting clothing items such as a pair of cargo pants, Ossendrijver transferred its pockets to a pair of pleated trousers. Meanwhile, shirts were elongated and turned backward for a fresh approach. Lanvin’s man also found his inner fisherman with utilitarian coats and jackets that were outfitted with pockets of various sizes. Another highlight of the season, vests and polos were shrunken down and layered with shirts of enlarged proportions.
