Coach Spring 2025 Reworks Classics with a New York Grit

The Fashionisto / Published September 13, 2024

Coach recently unveiled its spring-summer 2025 collection in a runway show staged on New York City’s High Line, a fitting location where urban grit meets modernity.

Creative director Stuart Vevers presented a contemporary spin on American classics, fusing rebellious New York energy with new wave, heavy metal, and skate influences.

“My vision for spring was to show real clothes in a real, relevant, urban environment,” said Vevers. “But we’re redesigning these clothes, keeping in mind the values of a new generation that is discovering these pieces for the first time.”

Archetypal pieces were reimagined through a modern lens—oversized blazers, baggy chinos, and pinstripe tailoring felt nostalgic and cutting-edge. Vevers focused on how these familiar silhouettes could be transformed to fit personal expression.

Coach Spring/Summer 2025 Collection

“So many elements of this collection come down to personality,” Vevers said. “We’ve taken very archetypal pieces and made them unique to the wearer, with the proportions, with the styling, and with very playful embellishments that call into question the idea of traditional ‘luxury.’”

The collection also spotlighted sustainability through its ties to Coach’s (Re)Loved program, which restores and resells vintage pieces with an artisan’s touch. Vevers seamlessly integrated this ethos into the collection, blending reworked classic garments with a sense of fresh relevance.

Drenched in nostalgia, the “I Love NY” t-shirts made a statement, while punchy graphic tees offered a DIY punk aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the 1940s souvenir-inspired garments. The juxtaposition of this playful energy with modern urban styles gave the collection a youthful cool that’s unmistakably Coach.

Leather accessories, a brand staple, carried the rebellious edge forward, pairing effortlessly with streetwise ensembles. The look is about attitude—pieces designed to be worn, lived in, and personalized over time. Ultimately, the collection’s boldness and grounding in heritage remind us that Coach’s legacy lies in a timeless style that evolves with every generation.
