Todd Snyder Spring 2025 Delivers Chic Slouchiness

The Fashionisto / Published September 14, 2024

Todd Snyder made his mark at New York Fashion Week, unveiling his spring-summer 2025 collection in a setting as rich in history as the garments themselves—Le Rock, a brasserie housed in the iconic Rockefeller Center.

With a collection named “Villa America,” Snyder nodded to the legendary 1920s haven of Gerald and Sara Murphy in Antibes, a gathering place for artistic giants like Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Cole Porter.

Snyder’s intention? To channel the bohemian yet cultured lifestyle of the Murphys. He commented, “I wanted to bring that unhurried and creative lifestyle into the modern era.”

This was done with a pastel palette from the late ’80s and early ’90s. The fabrics? Luxurious, yet approachable. The silhouettes? A seamless fusion of Anglo-American tailoring and the famed Milanese drape, which Snyder himself coined as “chic slouchiness”—a relaxed fit that retains its elegance.

The muted tones flowed effortlessly across the collection, giving off an understated confidence. The soft tailoring exuded sophistication while staying true to Snyder’s intent for ease and fluidity.

Yet the collection’s casual refinement was evident, with garments like the light, unstructured suits and oversized knits signaling an effortless and elegant lifestyle.

Each look captured an essence of breezy luxury, from the flow of loose-cut trousers to open cardigans paired with sandals that seemed ready for a sun-soaked day on the Côte d’Azur. As Snyder himself put it, the collection is about “wearability,” yet it transcends the typical, offering something far more refined and quietly powerful.

This isn’t the Wall Street warrior’s suit. It’s the uniform of someone with time, a discerning eye, and quiet confidence—someone who can easily shift from the urban jungle to the Mediterranean coast without breaking stride.

With Snyder closing the show on a confident note, the line between casual and formal, structured and fluid, continues to blur, marking this collection as one that beckons you to look closer while urging you to relax.
