American GQ Style dresses up skateboarding with its latest edition. The magazine brings us fall style with Tony Hawk and his son Riley. Photographer Michael Schmelling captures the duo in covetable designer clothes. GQ Style showcases a mix of tailoring and relaxed silhouettes. Essential items come together from brands like Etro, Marni, and Berluti.
The Hawk’s talk to the magazine about watching each other fall while attempting tricks. Tony says, “I’ve seen Riley get injured really badly, and that’s hard for me, but I’m going to discourage him from doing it. He’s always had a really good sense of his limitations and how to test the waters.”
The skate icon continues, “I trust Riley’s instincts, but it sucks to see him hurt.” Riley adds, “It’s definitely scary, but you just have to shut it out. You have to do that when you’re skating and when you’re watching a friend or family member.”
