Fresh off the release of his debut single, Sign of the Times, singer Harry Styles covers the May 4, 2017 issue of Rolling Stone. Embracing a sixties swagger, Styles dons dandy fashions, which bring together lace and brocade. The English star connects with photographer Theo Wenner for the accompanying photo shoot.

Styles talks to the magazine about making his solo debut after years with One Direction. The 23-year-old singer confesses, “Of course I’m nervous. I mean, I’ve never done this before. I don’t know what the f**k I’m doing.”

However, Styles explains, “I’m happy I found this band and these musicians, where you can be vulnerable enough to put yourself out there. I’m still learning…but it’s my favorite lesson.”

Talking more about the direction of his album, Styles says, “A lot of my influences, and the stuff that I love, is older. So the thing I didn’t want to do was, I didn’t want to put out my first album and be like, ‘He’s tried to re-create the Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, Nineties.'”

Styles counters, “Loads of amazing music was written then, but I’m not saying I wish I lived back then. I wanted to do something that sounds like me. I just keep pushing forward.” Read more on RollingStone.com.
