modalisboa regular miguel vieira presented for aw1011 a collection entitled “saudade” (homesickness) featuring all the portuguese traditional symbols such as the rooster, the cod-fish (bacalao) and the “azulejos” (hand-painted ceramic tiles used to decorate the houses) …

“saudade can not be defined, only lived … it becomes our soul, it invades our heart …
attracted to the future, loving the past in a modernized revival with elegance and sensuality …
saudade of the tiles … saudade of the trams … saudade of the smells of portugal … saudade of our people … saudade of cod, sardines and mackerel … saudade of old times …
the yesterday and tomorrow define, with elaborated and refined carefulness, a present of pure lines in contrast to an almost poetic nature where tradition and pure design blend and evoke a subtle magic that defines our being …
men and women who relive history, who reinvent themselves, but do not renounce the classic elements of a perfect look and a touch of daring …”

faithful to his signature look, miguel vieira showed a very chic collection based on structured pieces and tailoring in luxurious fabrics (leather, brocade, cashmere …) with black, midnight blue and white as prevailing colours … dandies in bow ties, leather high boots, fur scarves, dinner jackets … and dark sunglasses hanging around their neck !
