Presenting its latest collection during Pitti Uomo, Italian label Marni staged its fall-winter 2015 menswear show at the Museo Marino Marini. An extension of the season’s theme, the show’s venue represented an effort to take a longing gaze at the past and repurpose its desirable elements for the present. Embracing its quirky heritage, Marni reinvented the wheels of formal dress for its man. Tailoring was strong and lines minimal, but details revisited. Checks were mismatched, jackets compacted, trousers flared at the hem and suits broken. Dressed in an earthy color palette and highlighted with splashes of bold hues such as yellow, Marni delivered a well-rounded outing that was reinforced with smart accessories that included zip-up boots, goat fur backpacks, leather derbies and wool apron bags.
