Juun.J Fall/Winter 2014–A film aficionado, for fall/winter 2014, Juun.J looked to film noir featuring gangsters of the 1930s and 1940s for inspiration. Adopting the Zoot Suit to reference not only for the show’s title, but the season’s silhouettes, narrow trousers and lean tops came together with large sculpted coats and often exaggerated sleeves. Layering on the leather, in one instance, Juun.J’s menacing man slunk down the runway in leather pants featuring a zippered hem, a coordinated body conscious top, fitted gloves and a sleek tailored coat. Revisiting pinstripes, relaxed tailoring made for quite the power suit which later transitioned into strong colorful graphics putting an emphasis on the season’s show-stopping finale.
