Y-3’s fall-winter 2019 men’s collection as a new partnership for the brand and its creative director Yohji Yamamoto. The designer revisits his own archives as well as Y-3’s for an inspired season, which references the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. Adidas’ sports-geared clothing collides with the fashion-forward feel of Yamamoto’s own work. A vintage-infused color palette includes Yohji red, Yohji navy, and Y-3 icon orange. The label’s signature black, gray, ecru, ink, and off-white hues round out the selection. Must-haves arrive in the form of key pieces such as a “Yohji” varsity jacket or baseball shirt. The collection also features acidic floral all-over prints or “Toketa” that take inspiration from the Japanese tradition of ikebana.
