Maison Margiela’s fall-winter 2018 collection marked John Galliano’s menswear debut for the fashion house. Marrying the house codes for innovative construction with his own penchant for drama, Galliano unveiled an exciting collection. Reinterpreting classics such as the trench coat, the designer proposed a novel way to evaluate individual pieces. Each item of the lineup begged to be examined for color, cut, and finish. The beauty of Galliano’s work can be viewed, not only in the provocative nature of a cut-out coat but also in the sleek draping of a double-breasted pinstripe suit.
