Dries Van Noten takes the old and makes its new with his fall-winter 2018 collection. The Belgian designer presented a wardrobe complete with tartan, broderie anglaise, and crocheted details. Despite showing over a hundred looks for the season, Van Noten retained the momentum with a clever reworking of scale, placement, and purpose. Bringing a casualness to tailoring, the lineup makes a case for mix and match separates. Highlights include embellished jackets, oversized tops, double-breasted coats, tartan trousers, and slouchy pants. Van Noten also offers a unique interpretation on the western shirt by adding a fashion-forward fringe. Additional hero pieces range from a chic tracksuit and all-over print knits to oversized parkas. Furthering a graphic appeal, outerwear marches to an artsy beat with marbled prints.
