Sarah Burton makes a tailored play for her latest Alexander McQueen outing. The spring-summer 2019 collection puts tailoring at the forefront. Traditional lines are subverted with references to artist Francis Bacon and photographer John Deakin. In a season where fashion brands are going wide, Burton embraces a slim silhouette. Pinstripe suits come together with trench coats belted at the waist. Leather provides a luxurious element to narrow pleated pants and straight-cut coats. Bicolor elements add interest to outerwear as well. Adding a splash of color, graffiti prints and oversized graphics pack a delightful punch.
