Vasko Luyckx

With his close crop and wide smile, this Belgian model brings a youthful informality to designer fashion and everyday clothes alike.

Vasko Luyckx is a Belgian model whom Raf Simons helped put on the map, casting him on the runway and in front of Willy Vanderperre’s camera. His close-cropped hair and boyish features fit the designer’s world, but his career has taken him well beyond it.

Sandro and Paul Smith have cast him in campaigns, while Zara and Massimo Dutti have made his face familiar to a broader menswear audience. He can look stern in a portrait, then break into a smile that changes the mood entirely.

His runway work includes Giorgio Armani and Situationist, alongside editorial appearances in Dior magazine and Le Monde d’Hermès. Photographers including Mark Peckmezian, Estelle Hanania, and Samuel Bradley have brought out different sides of a model equally at home in fashion’s more experimental corners and the clothes men wear every day.
