Canada Goose takes its performance credentials to the open Atlantic with Ewan McGregor, outfitting the actor for TRUE WIND, an unsupported transatlantic sailing expedition with his childhood friend Eric Strickland. The pair left Oban, Scotland, at the end of August and are currently sailing thousands of miles toward Brazil as director David Alexanian documents the journey for an upcoming series.
The partnership gives Canada Goose an adventure where the clothes actually have a job to do. McGregor wears the brand’s Sea Mantra, developed over six years for extreme wet-weather conditions, alongside additional protective gear selected for life at sea.
Having already crossed continents by motorcycle for the Long Way series, McGregor’s latest expedition continues a long-running appetite for travel beyond the usual comforts. “I always thought that being on a small boat in the middle of a huge ocean must be very close to experiencing real adventure, at a time when adventure is harder and harder to find,” he explains. This time, the road quite literally runs out. For Canada Goose, TRUE WIND takes its exploration story from frozen landscapes to open water, with McGregor actively testing the proposition.
