Michael Fassbender delivers a striking profile as he covers Icon El País. Photographer John Russo collaborates with stylist Gareth Scourfield to capture the actor for the magazine’s December 2016 issue. Talking to Icon El País about creating a movie based off a video game, Fassbender shares in a translated quote, “One of the most difficult things in making a movie from the universe of this video game is the amount of information there is.”

Fassbender continues, “It’s a very dense material. You had to distill, simplify your best and work with a few elements that anchor the audience in the film.” The Scottish actor explains, “In a project like this, there is a healthy dance between respect and disrespect. We have invented characters that do not exist in the game. We take very important things and rules of the video game, but this is a movie.” Read more on ElPais.com.
