Xavier Buestel

Xavier Buestel is a French model and musician whose introduction to fashion began with an offer he initially declined. Scouted on the streets of Le Marais in Paris, he later reconsidered, had professional photographs taken, and contacted Rock Men, which signed him. By January 2014, he was walking for Gucci and Prada in Milan.

Music was already part of his working life. During that early period, Xavier had converted his Paris apartment into a recording studio, producing music and working with local indie bands. Modeling developed alongside an existing creative pursuit.

His fall-winter 2014 Gucci campaign, photographed by Mert & Marcus, placed him alongside Clément Chabernaud, Arthur Gosse, and Janis Ancens. Coach became another significant relationship, bringing him into advertising photographed by Steven Meisel. For the house’s fall-winter 2016 campaign, he appeared with Finnlay Davis under Stuart Vevers’ creative direction.

Magazine work gave Xavier room to develop as an editorial protagonist. Thomas Goldblum photographed his winter 2016 cover of L’Officiel Hommes España, while Vassilis Karidis photographed him for the 25th issue of Dapper Dan. The latter’s “Bed of Nails” story made physical performance central to the photographs, extending a portfolio shaped by both major advertising assignments and independent fashion publishing.
