Lucie and Luke Meier
Lucie and Luke Meier are a fashion-design partnership whose joint work at Jil Sander brought emotion and handwork into a house associated with reduction. From 2017 to 2025, their men’s and women’s collections used the clarity of a silhouette as a starting point for contrasts in material. A severe outline could make room for something fragile or tactile.
Lucie grew up in Zermatt, Switzerland, and studied fashion in Florence. Her career included Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga before Dior, where she worked on women’s ready-to-wear and haute couture. Luke grew up in Vancouver, with an early attachment to skateboarding. After studying business, he moved to New York and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, later working as head designer at Supreme and co-founding OAMC.
The two met while studying in Florence. Their appointment to Jil Sander brought those different experiences into the same studio, combining Lucie’s couture background with Luke’s understanding of a wardrobe shaped by street culture. They treated minimalism as room for an emotional response to cloth, with knitwear and handmade details complicating the apparent simplicity. Their final collection for the house was fall-winter 2025, presented in February of that year.
In a Stump Magazine conversation with Tetsu Nishiyama, published in May 2026, both designers recalled the paths that brought them into fashion. “Nature was my biggest inspiration,” Lucie said, describing the mountains and forests around her childhood home. Luke emphasized the value of personal judgment, observing that “there is no absolute formula for cool.” Their work comes from exchange between two sensibilities, with neither background supplying a complete explanation on its own.
