The Sporty Touch–The spring/summer 2013 season so far has been about that polished finish, taking the more raw components and it making them refined. Perhaps no better designer illustrates this than Boris Bidjan Saberi. Known for his draping, Saberi took his collection in a more structured direction sportswear marking the season’s territory. Kept simple in black, gray and white, jackets are the keynote of the collection with the piece transitioning from suave to sporty with a shift in the details. Tackling smaller lapels, contrasted panels and different fabrications, the collection’s jackets are the perfect counterpart to a more relaxed notion of pants and shorts, often finished loose and with drawstrings. Armed with ankle boots, lengthened shirts towards the collection’s end nod to the Saberi of previous seasons, marrying a contemporary cool to classic expectations.
