The CFDA has honed in on its latest fashion icon–Pharrell Williams. Following in the footsteps of Rihanna, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga and more, Pharrell will be honored at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards on June 1, 2015. CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg comments, “If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness. I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him.” In addition to honoring Pharrell, the CFDA will once again give out an award for Menswear Designer of the Year as well as a Swarovski Award for Menswear. Menswear Designer of the Year nominees include Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Rag & Bone, Thom Browne, Tim Coppens and Tom Ford. Swarovski Awards for Menswear nominees are Shayne Oliver for Hood by Air, Alex Orley, Matthew Orley and Samantha Orley for Orley, Ariel and Shimon Ovadia for Ovadia & Sons.
