New Perry–After a two-season hiatus, Perry Ellis will return to New York Fashion Week this coming September with its debut collection from newly-appointed creative director Michael Maccari. Unveiling their spring/summer 2015 collection, Maccari will also oversee design direction for licensed products. Maccari joins Perry Ellis after serving as fashion director and senior vice president of design for Armani Exchange. Tapping Maccari for the position, Perry Ellis hopes to bring their man into the modern era with a fresh new design voice. Discussing his new position, Maccari expressed that “Perry Ellis, the man and the brand, mean a lot to me. Perry’s collections always went beyond the rules of fashion. I hope to capture that spirit in my work with the brand.”
