Rutger Schoone

Rutger Schoone entered fashion as a spectator before becoming one of the men on the runway. The Dutch model from Heemskerk was discovered at a fashion show he attended with his girlfriend.

An early assignment placed him at the center of Louis Vuitton’s menswear presentation. Rutger opened and closed the house’s spring-summer 2013 show, presented in Paris in June 2012. The booking gave him a prominent role at the beginning of his international career, and Louis Vuitton returned to him for its fall-winter 2013 pre-collection lookbook. Runway work for Hermès and Dries Van Noten followed as his career developed across the European fashion capitals.

Photography became an equally important part of his work. Editorials for GQ Italia and Esquire España established a portfolio in men’s fashion magazines, while advertising included Closed’s spring-summer 2020 campaign. These assignments gave him sustained roles beyond the seasonal show circuit.

His later magazine work retained a connection to the Netherlands. In 2024, the Dutch publication ModMod cast him in a South Tyrol editorial, placing him in a rural landscape for its fashion story. More than a decade after his Paris runway introduction, he was working with a publication from his own country on an international assignment.
