Matthew Bell

The British model who came up on the London runway in the early 2010s and has stayed on the call sheet long enough to outlast some of the houses that first booked him.

Matthew Bell was working at Topman in Liverpool when an Elite scout pulled him in for the 2011 Elite Model Look UK, which he won. The runway calls came fast. By 2013, he had walked Dior Homme, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, and Paul Smith, with Iceberg, IRO, and Belstaff campaigns lining up alongside the show seasons.

Vogue Hommes shot him for a 2015 editorial. 10 Men, Man About Town, L’Officiel Hommes Italia, and GQ Style Brazil followed. He was the British face with the lean Northern look that London designers kept reaching for through the post-Burton, Christopher Bailey years at Burberry.

A decade later he is one of the faces Inditex has been returning to longest. Massimo Dutti has cast him across menswear stories, cycling him through the seasonal lookbooks, and Zara and Mango have stayed on the same page. Matthew sits in the small group of British models who came up on the London runway and have made the Spanish high street their long home, the face brands keep cycling back into the lookbook season after season.
