Kenzo Pre-Spring 2027 Explores Life Between Work & Play

The Fashionisto / Published June 10, 2026

Kenzo’s pre-spring 2027 collection looks at the season through the lens of a wardrobe. Taking his cue from the archival “Kenzo Work & Play” label, Nigo brings together the codes that have shaped his tenure, including American varsity style, Ivy League staples, utility dressing, and Japanese craft traditions.

Varsity jackets, chore coats, carpenter trousers, and soft tailoring sit side by side, blurring the lines between campus style, workwear, and traditional menswear. Together, they act as a personal wardrobe accumulated through different interests, references, and periods of life.

Nigo approaches menswear categories as increasingly fluid. A denim apron becomes part of a layered look. Camouflage appears beside soft knits. Workwear jackets share space with floral motifs and textured fabrics inspired by craftsmanship and ceramic-making.

Lighter tailoring and Japanese garden motifs pull the collection out of the workshop and into the open air. Here, Nigo’s Kenzo unveils a vision shaped less by specific occasions and more by a fluid dialogue between utility, craft, and personal expression.
