There is plenty of outdoor life in Taylor Stitch’s winter 2026 collection, though some of its best clothes suggest an afternoon spent indoors. “North By Northwest,” photographed in Washington’s San Juan Islands, puts rugged layers in a setting of wooded paths and cold shorelines.
The more interesting proposition is how easily that wardrobe accommodates a softer pace. A dark green shawl-collar cardigan, worn open over a gray button-down and dark trousers, gives the collection its clearest expression of grown-up comfort. Its textured knit and deep pockets lend the ease of a house cardigan to an outfit ready for town.
The navy corduroy Riley sportcoat works along similar lines, layered over a pale rollneck and worn with jeans. Tailoring has a place here, even when the day makes few formal demands. A patterned Seawall hand-knit sweater adds a more rustic note, while the broad stripes of a rugby shirt bring graphic relief to the earthy palette. Compact trucker jackets and straight denim keep the silhouettes grounded; a red down jacket supplies a welcome flash of color against the water.
These are established menswear ideas, and the collection is most persuasive when it lets their different associations coexist. The man dressed for a walk can also be the man who gets comfortable with a book. He doesn’t need to change his entire wardrobe between the two.
