Silk Road to Rome–British designer and Brioni creative director Brendan Mullane looked to the Italian label’s home of Rome for the starting inspiration of his spring/summer 2014 collection. Moved by early mornings and dusty romantic visions of the Vatican, the range easily came together with a focus on clean cuts and the soft luxury of silk. Complementing an expected lineup of the brand’s impeccably tailored suiting, essentials such as the t-shirt and lightweight sweaters were brought into a rich realm with checks, plaids, wool and silk.
