Fernando Albaladejo
Fernando Albaladejo is a Spanish model from Sitges whose career began with an exclusive Calvin Klein contract during Raf Simons’s tenure. His curls became a recognizable part of the label’s new image, while architecture studies gave him a separate creative interest alongside his international modeling work.
Fernando was sixteen when agent Hakim Felidj approached him at a gym in his hometown. A few months later, he traveled to New York for his first Calvin Klein assignment, beginning a close collaboration with photographer Willy Vanderperre and stylist Olivier Rizzo.
In a 2021 interview with V Magazine, he described modeling as a form of communication. “It seems magical to me to be the mediator between the photographer and the viewer,” he said.
Calvin Klein became the defining first chapter of Fernando’s career. His work included the American Classics imagery and Calvin Klein 205W39NYC campaigns, followed by assignments across jeans and fragrance.
He returned for the house’s fall-winter 2018 campaign, photographed by Vanderperre in Utah. Magazine work developed alongside that relationship, including a spring-summer 2019 story for Vogue Hommes Paris, photographed by David Bailey.
Education remained an important part of Fernando’s life as his modeling career expanded. Speaking to GQ España in 2022, he recalled combining architecture studies with work from his home in Sitges.
An Erasmus exchange in France encouraged him to try living elsewhere, and he subsequently took a year out to concentrate on modeling in New York. “I like stepping out of my comfort zone,” he said, translated from Spanish. That year, the magazine recognized him at its Men of the Year awards.
His later editorial portfolio includes Love Want, photographed by Nagi Sakai, and Rain, photographed by Bryan Torres. A 2025 cover for Harper’s Bazaar France Homme brought another collaboration with Vanderperre, extending a photographic relationship that had helped establish his career at Calvin Klein.
