Finnlay Davis

A London upbringing and an unexpected introduction to modeling led to a career built around a lean silhouette and an adaptable photographic character.

Finnlay Davis grew up in London and entered modeling after being scouted during his school commute to Essex. Fashion had not been his intended profession, but an early run of major bookings quickly changed his direction. In 2015, he appeared in Prada’s pre-fall campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, placing him among the new faces introducing the house’s collection.

His runway career developed just as quickly. By February 2016, Vogue was documenting his rise through shows for J.W. Anderson, followed by Prada and Gucci. Work with photographers including Willy Vanderperre and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott extended that early recognition into advertising and magazine imagery.

Hermès became a recurring relationship within his portfolio. Finnlay joined Anders Hayward and Oliver Kumbi for the house’s fall-winter 2018 men’s campaign, then took the central role in its fall-winter 2021 advertising, photographed by Anne Marieke van Drimmelen. Those repeat bookings gave continuity to a career initially defined by the rapid succession of international shows.

His work also encompasses fashion editorials and retail imagery, including L’Officiel Hommes Germany and Mr Porter. Together, these assignments trace a career built through both the collective momentum of the runway and the individual attention of a photographic sitting.
