Julian Schneyder

Julian Schneyder is an Austrian model from Vienna whose competitive judo background preceded his career in fashion. He began training at six and reached black-belt level, bringing years of tournament experience to a profession that would make his athletic build part of his appeal.

Modeling began after a friend sent photographs of Julian to Wiener Models. The agency signed him following a meeting, and his international debut came as a Versace exclusive for fall-winter 2015. He soon appeared in Dsquared2’s fall 2015 campaign, an early booking that helped establish him beyond the runway. Calvin Klein Underwear’s spring 2016 advertising followed, giving his sporting physique a particularly direct role in his fashion work.

Julian has described judo as mental training as much as physical preparation. Setting goals and concentrating on achieving them were habits he felt could serve his modeling career. That connection also became visible in his photographs. For a 2021 Numéro Homme editorial, he drew on his experience as a fighter, making movement part of the performance.

His portfolio developed beyond explicitly athletic casting. Magazine work included British GQ Style and Man About Town, while repeated runway appearances for Giorgio Armani established a continuing relationship with Italian menswear. His work for Sunspel’s fall 2026 collection added another chapter to an ongoing association with the British label. Across these assignments, the athlete who entered fashion became an established model, with physical control remaining a useful part of his craft.
