Patrick Kafka
Patrick Kafka is an Austrian model whose career spans American sportswear and Italian tailoring. Early work for Abercrombie & Fitch and Ralph Lauren introduced him to an international audience, while campaigns and runway appearances made him a recurring face of European menswear.
Raised in the suburbs of Vienna, Patrick entered fashion through his older sister, who signed him up for a modeling contest. He won Supermodel – The Next Generation in 2008, earning agency contracts and the opportunity to work abroad.
In Husqvarna’s account of his life in Vienna, he recalled the surprise of receiving a call asking him to bring swimwear before he knew what his sister had arranged. The experience led to a modeling stint in Boston and an international career. Motorcycles, an enthusiasm shared by his family, remained a connection to the life he had known before fashion.
Patrick’s fashion work developed across advertising, editorials, and the runway. His Roberto Cavalli Class spring-summer 2010 campaign established an early association with Italian luxury, alongside work for houses including Dolce & Gabbana.
He later became the protagonist of Tagliatore’s first short film in 2018, extending his work from still photographs into a speaking role centered on style. His appearance in the label’s fall-winter 2019 collection continued that relationship with Italian tailoring.
Away from shoots, Patrick described an active life shaped by outdoor pursuits. In an interview published by Die Presse in 2018, he named climbing and mountain biking among his preferred ways to stay fit, expressing an emphatic dislike of gyms.
Asked about a career after modeling, he chose motorcycle test rider. The answer connected a childhood interest with an ambition of his own, beyond the profession his sister had helped him discover.
