Benjamin Eidem

Benjamin Eidem is a Swedish model whose blue eyes and wavy hair have made him a recognizable face of designer menswear. His composed expression and relaxed manner suit both designer tailoring and the sunlit leisure of international advertising.

From Gothenburg, Benjamin was first approached by scouts outside a Miami restaurant at 18. He declined, returning to Sweden before eventually signing with Modellink. Before modeling, he worked in an electronics store and photographed nightclub events.

His international career accelerated in June 2011, when he opened and closed Prada’s spring-summer 2012 show, a conspicuous debut for someone who had taken several years to accept the idea of being a model.

An i-D cover in 2011 helped establish his editorial identity. His subsequent work extended from fashion magazines to a recurring association with Michael Kors, including the designer’s men’s fragrance advertising in 2014. The connection suited a model who could make luxury look like a pleasurable way to spend a day, with the wearer as engaging as the clothes.

Sailing provides a more personal version of that image. In a 2015 interview with Vogue Hommes, accompanying his cover appearance, Benjamin named buying his boat as the happiest moment of his life. He described time away from shoots in terms of sailing, photography, and seeing the people close to him, and spoke of crossing the Atlantic by boat as a dream.

His later BOSS spring-summer 2018 campaign continued the connection between tailoring and life outdoors. Across these different chapters, Benjamin’s appeal rests on a particular balance, a face suited to fashion’s idealized worlds and a relaxed manner that makes them seem inhabitable.
