Alexandre Cunha
Alexandre Cunha, also known as Alex Cunha, is a Brazilian model whose athletic frame and expressive smile have made him a recurring face of luxury menswear. His work moves between the physical confidence of underwear advertising and the composure of Italian tailoring, with an ease that makes both convincing.
Born in Belo Horizonte, Alexandre began taking modeling photographs in 2004 while still at school. Recalling his start in Revista Diverso, he described two separate encounters with models on the bus home. Both encouraged him to visit the same agency; after the second invitation, he went with his sister. He was 19 when work first took him abroad, beginning a life of travel that eventually persuaded him to leave university. The opportunity brought independence, though separation from his family made those early years difficult.
By 2012, Alexandre was appearing in Bottega Veneta’s spring advertising and fronting Armani Exchange, establishing himself across two different expressions of Italian fashion. Dolce & Gabbana became another important association through runway appearances and campaigns. His later Tom Ford Research advertising extended that recognition into beauty, while recurring work for Kiton placed his image within a more traditional tailoring wardrobe.
Speaking to Vulkan, Alexandre explained that experience had taught him to pay attention to what a client wanted to communicate. He connected his outlook on set to a happy family life and described childhood friendships as a source of stability. He also discussed his support for Indigenous communities after spending time with Amazonian leaders in Paris, an encounter that sharpened his awareness of the difficulties they faced in Brazil.
Business has developed alongside modeling. In Numéro Netherlands, Alexandre described investments across technology, agriculture, and services, as well as a real estate company in Brazil. Those interests give a practical continuation to the university studies he left behind, building a working life that extends beyond the next booking.
