Timo Pan was working as a scaffolder in Amsterdam when Sjaak Pul, founder of The Troopers, spotted him from his bicycle and turned back to offer him a business card. The Dutch model from Alkmaar had never planned on a fashion career. Armani became an early booking, followed by overseas shoots and runway work that introduced him to a profession he had barely thought about.

At first, Timo balanced the two jobs, arranging castings and fittings around construction work with the support of his colleagues. In a 2022 interview with Vogue Netherlands, he described learning to take more interest in clothes while remaining the same cheerful person. His account of meeting Giorgio Armani focused on the designer’s attention to small details and the reassurance he gave models before a show.

Givenchy was another formative experience. Walking its fall-winter 2022 show, Timo noticed the scaffolding supporting the runway and checked it with a worker’s eye. He went on to appear in Versace’s resort 2023 campaign and Calvin Klein Jeans’ spring 2023 advertising, with Emporio Armani and Dsquared2 adding to his menswear work. His athletic build and close-cropped hair suit direct, physical images, but editorial portraits also reveal a more reserved presence.

His magazine work includes Numéro Netherlands, photographed by Laurent Humbert, and L’Officiel Hommes Italia. Travel also encouraged an interest in nature photography, turning his attention toward the places a modeling job takes him. The practical curiosity that once led him to inspect a runway’s construction has found another outlet behind a camera.
