Valentino Fall/Winter 2014–Playing with the notion that high-end fashions can exude a casualness while still boasting several of the finest fabrications, Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli unveiled a fall/winter 2014 collection of sharp essentials. Here, simple crewneck sweaters were offered with coats cut large like house coats. Tackling jeans with custom fits, patchwork coats were equally unique, fashioned by hand. Meanwhile, slouchy long-sleeved shirts, pajamas reinterpreted as pinstripe suits and fur outerwear continued a trend of ordinary pieces with extraordinary finishes.
