Dev Patel is an English actor of Indian descent. Born on April 23, 1990, Patel received his big break as Anwar Kharral in the first two seasons of the teen drama Skins. He then went on to play Jamal Malik in the Academy Award for Best Picture winner Slumdog Millionaire. Patel appeared in movies such as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Lion as well.
