Perry Ellis marks its 50th anniversary with its fall 2026 campaign, “Return to the City,” which stars its recently appointed global brand ambassador Alexander Ludwig. Set against glass towers and concrete architecture, the advertisement accompanies the 50th anniversary capsule collection. It looks back to 1976, when Perry Ellis launched his namesake label and helped loosen the conventions surrounding American menswear.

Ludwig embraces Perry Ellis’ grounded approach to menswear in an urban setting that gives the clothes a metropolitan context. Here, the anniversary collection draws from the relaxed approach to sportswear that made Ellis influential, translated through Italian wool blends, alpaca knitwear, and tailored outerwear.

A navy double-breasted coat worn over a matching turtleneck reflects tonal dressing. A shearling-collar leather jacket paired with denim shifts the same wardrobe into a more casual territory.

“Perry Ellis is founded on the principle that clothes should be spirited, comfortable, and deeply personal,” says creative director Michael Miille. That connection between the original Perry Ellis philosophy and contemporary city dressing gives the anniversary more substance than a simple trip through the archives.

“As we look toward our next chapter, ‘Return to the City’ brings us back to our roots with a refreshed sense of purpose,” Miille says. “Alexander Ludwig perfectly embodies this evolution. He brings an authentic, grounded masculinity and natural charisma that reflects who the Perry Ellis man is today.”

Fifty years after Ellis challenged the stiffness of American menswear, the campaign finds plenty of mileage left in his belief that good clothes should accommodate the life of the man wearing them.
