A tie need not turn an Oxford shirt into office wear. Eton’s new campaign puts Eddie Klint in a blue button-down, striped tie, and dark jeans, an outfit that remembers its collegiate roots but has long since graduated. The Swedish shirtmaker introduces its Oxford shirt in the new Ivy fit, giving the body more room and softening the cloth with a garment-washed finish. That adjustment serves the Oxford shirt’s versatility.
Worn open over a white T-shirt, the Oxford becomes a light extra layer; tucked into denim with a sweater draped over the shoulders, it leans into the campus associations. Even the navy shirt, sleeves rolled above the forearms and worn with pale trousers, feels ready for an ordinary afternoon. Eton leaves the recognizable details intact, from the button-down collar to the back pleat and locker loop. The useful change is in the room to move, which matters as much when sitting around as it does when getting dressed.
