Matthew Seymour

An international runway career launched at Prada, with an early interest in fashion publishing and a photographic portfolio built through recurring designer relationships.

Matthew Seymour is a South African model whose international career began with a Prada runway debut in 2018. Discovered through Instagram, he entered the European menswear circuit during the spring-summer 2019 season, with early appearances for Off-White and Loewe following his first show in Milan.

His first season attracted attention beyond the runway. British Vogue’s 2018 account of the menswear newcomers also noted his work running an online magazine, a3sth3tic. Fashion publishing was therefore part of his early activity alongside modeling, as he began building a career in front of the camera and on the runway.

Advertising followed those first collections. Matthew joined Balenciaga’s fall-winter 2019 couples campaign, photographed by Greg Finck, appearing alongside Alexis Sundman. Magazine assignments developed in parallel, including an April 2020 story for GQ France, photographed by Maxime La on the streets of New York.

His subsequent work has included repeated runway appearances for Jil Sander and AMI, alongside photographic assignments for Massimo Dutti. Hunter & Gatti photographed him for the Spanish label’s fall-winter 2023 Studio collection. Fear of God also became part of his portfolio, including the 2026 “An Eternal Perspective” campaign, in which he appeared with Anden Scudder.

Prada remained a connection beyond his debut season. Matthew appeared in the house’s 2024 Made to Measure advertising, photographed by Mattia Cocci. Six years after his first runway appearance, the assignment brought him into another part of the Milanese house’s image, modeling its tailoring for a service built around individual clients.
