John Todd

John Todd is a British model from Rotherham whose introduction to fashion came during a holiday in Newquay, Cornwall. Scouted on the beach in 2011, he joined Next and soon had a reason to leave South Yorkshire for New York, where an assignment with Patrick Demarchelier offered an early encounter with a leading fashion photographer.

In a 2015 interview with Vogue France, John described making each unfamiliar city his own through a particularly useful habit. He traveled to castings by longboard, treating the journeys as his daily cardio. His approach to the camera was similarly sociable. “I always try to joke with the team. Humor helps you get through the difficult moments,” he said, translated from French. Home offered a retreat from the working day, somewhere he could leave its stress at the door.

John’s early advertising included Jones Bootmaker’s spring-summer 2012 campaign, while magazine work developed into a major part of his portfolio. Jack Pierson photographed him for Vogue Hommes Paris‘ spring-summer 2015 issue, giving him a prominent role in the magazine’s beachside fashion story.

Advertising supplied further opportunities to take the lead. He fronted Beymen’s fall-winter 2019 campaign, photographed by Hunter & Gatti, and later appeared in Porsche Design’s 2024 Iconic Curved eyewear imagery.
