As we head into the final stretch of Marcel Castenmiller’s time as model of the month, we find out more about him through the eyes of his friends. New York-based photographer Dana Goldstein was kind enough to share a revealing look into her friendship with Marcel, expressing “Marcel was one of the first people I met when I moved to the city. One day he showed up at my apartment on St. Marks with my friend Nicky and his girlfriend at the time, Sarah. When I saw him for the first time, I thought he was the most beautiful boy in the entire world. That was almost 4 years ago and my feelings haven’t changed.
Marcel is a really awesome friend. We’re born one day apart so that makes us both Scorpios. When I broke my foot he’d come watch tv and eat pizza with me or when I was sad take me to some fun party or show. I’ll never forget when David Armstrong told him to lighten up on the pizza (yes Marcel, eats) because he couldn’t fit in his corset like the other boys.
I’m lucky enough to have met him when he first moved to New York and been able to watch his natural progression in the art and fashion world. Marcel is always down for some adventure, rides his bike faster, wilder than anyone I know, and has a passion for life thats hardly comparable. In conclusion, above all… Marcel is a dreamer and thats where we really unite. We might not always see eye to eye on things but we’ve always respected and supported each others artist endeavors.”
