The Eclectic Traveler–Lining the runway in colorful rugs, pointing to faraway travels, Missoni sent their man on a trip for the spring/summer 2013 season. Toying with the idea of incorporating aspects of different cultures into one’s mode of dress, Angela Missoni set about reworking laid-back essentials like the henley or cardigan with special fabrics from south-east Asia. Combined with heritage prints, the collection was a fantastic sight with field jackets, bombers and other pieces being weaved into Missoni’s often soft selection. Meanwhile safari shorts and trousers were constructed as knitwear and placed among a range, rich in accessories, ranging from oversized totes to desert boots featuring rich embroidery.
