Tim Schuhmacher
Tim Schuhmacher is a German model from the Karlsruhe area whose career began with an unusually prominent runway debut. In 2013, he opened and closed Prada’s spring-summer 2014 menswear show, establishing a relationship with the house that would extend into its fragrance advertising.
His introduction to modeling came while working in a Berlin café. Approached by a scout, Tim initially hesitated before contacting the agency and trying the profession. He had been interested in architecture, a field connected to his grandfather, and entered fashion with little knowledge of the industry. Opening Prada put him at the front of a major show before he fully understood the significance of the assignment.
Early campaigns for Dior Homme and Calvin Klein’s Platinum label established his photographic career alongside runway work. Prada became a defining association, particularly through Luna Rossa and the Luna Rossa Black fragrance campaign. His later work included Bottega Veneta and Hugo Boss, followed by Giorgio Armani’s 11 timepieces campaign in 2025.
Away from modeling, electronic music offered a creative pursuit of his own. In a 2018 interview with Welt, Tim discussed building a digital studio on his laptop and experimenting with granular synthesis. His interest lay in how sounds could be constructed as much as in melody, revealing a technical curiosity beyond his work in front of the camera.
