Growing Up–Ulla model Sander Nevejans joins Lars Christian, appearing before the lens of Julie Scheurweghs for MariusPetrus’ spring/summer 2013 lookbook. Aptly titled ‘Flux’, representing a constant state of change, the new collection was inspired by the idea of a boy making the transition from youth to adulthood. Taking a hold of the eagerness to be a man yet the enjoyments of childhood, the collection finds its voice with traditional menswear infused with sportswear influences. A simple expression put forth, tailored suiting becomes endearing as proportions are shifted, prints applied and a certain charm born. Layering pieces, a short-sleeved boxy-cut jacket is the young companion to a sharp jacket, while trousers are cut above the ankle and shorts are in full use with loose, slouchy fits. Accomplishing a little give and take, MariusPetrus achieves a fun collection with all the smart trimmings. / Makeup by Orla McKeating.
