Agi & Sam Fall/Winter 2014–Agi & Sam designers Agi Mdumulla and Sam Cotton go tribal for the fall/winter 2014 season, borrowing references from Mdumulla’s background and the history of his grandfather who was a Masai warrior. Taking inspiration from frequent summer visits to Africa by Mdumulla, the collection makes a strong style statement in black and white. Set to a political undertone, tribal references such as Masai checks are juxtaposed with graphic references to Western oil companies. Drawn into their world of oversized silhouettes, the season’s theme results in elongated proportions and a mode of great leisure. From baggy cropped trousers and slouchy tops to loose robe-like outerwear, Agi & Sam make the world of relaxed luxury inviting.
