Florian van Bael

Brussels roots and an early Calvin Klein exclusive set the course for a career in international menswear.

Florian van Bael is a Belgian model from Brussels whose early career included a Calvin Klein exclusive for spring-summer 2011. Work for Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani followed, alongside editorial appearances in Fantastic Man and GQ Italia.

Florian entered modeling through a shopping trip in his hometown. An IMM scout named Samuray spotted him at People Shoe Design, where he was visiting with his then-girlfriend. The setting suited someone who already had an enthusiasm for shoes. He regarded belts and watches as men’s jewelry, personal details that mattered to him before fashion became his profession.

In an early interview, Florian spoke affectionately about Brussels for a practical reason: friends and family were always nearby. Music offered another connection, a language people could share and a companion during time alone. Those observations give a sense of the person behind a career that soon involved international travel and exclusive runway bookings.

His professional work continued beyond that initial show circuit, including Banana Republic advertising photographed by Gregory Harris and a 2022 Luisaviaroma editorial with Stefano Galuzzi.
