Zara ages up for its latest “Back to Work” edit, enlisting Daisuke Ueda and John Armstrong to argue for the time-tested professional wardrobe. The casting gives familiar office codes the benefit of experience. Suits, striped shirts, ties, fine-gauge knits and tailored trousers look like clothes these men have spent years learning how to wear.

There is a touch of late-1980s and early-1990s office dressing in the proposition, yet Zara loosens those associations with open collars, generous trousers, practical outerwear and jackets in hand. The result finds its appeal in adulthood. After years of offices relaxing their dress codes, Zara suggests there is something worth reclaiming in dressing for the job. A good suit, proper coat or leather bag can make looking established feel aspirational again.
