Barneys New York Exclusive: Adidas Samba Sneaker
The latest in Barneys New York’s Sole Series, the Adidas Samba sneaker is revisited. The updated style comes in both black and white. Its construction includes one piece of smooth leather, affixed to a rubber sole. Debossed detailing completes the sneaker with Adidas’ signature three strikes. Barneys’ senior men’s footwear buyer Chris Pepe talks about the collaboration.

He elaborates, “This was by far our most technical design to date for the entire BNY Sole Series project. While it may look simple, we spent a lot of time perfecting the final version. The whole shoe is constructed of only one piece of soft leather throughout.”
Pepe continues, “In comparison, the original adidas Samba is a suede material with leather overlay for the stripes, so for our collaboration, all the details are debossed instead. The concept is uniquely ours, and the monochromatic look really brings design to the forefront.”
