Veronica Leoni is an Italian fashion designer whose career combines the discipline of established studios with the independence of her own label, Quira. Her clothes focus on the way a shape frames the body, allowing texture and subtle changes in proportion to establish their character. Calvin Klein appointed her creative director of Collection in May 2024, entrusting her with the label’s return to the runway.

Leoni studied literature in Rome before developing her career in fashion. Her studio experience included Jil Sander and Céline, followed by creative responsibility for 2 Moncler 1952 and work with The Row. Those settings gave her different approaches to a reduced wardrobe, from exacting tailoring to clothing built around practical use. The education was cumulative, developing through the act of making collections with other designers.

She launched Quira in 2021, naming it after her grandmother Quirina, a seamstress. The personal reference gave the label an emotional foundation alongside its sculptural clothes. Quira became a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2023, drawing attention to Leoni’s work as an independent designer before her Calvin Klein appointment.

At Calvin Klein, her remit for Collection included men’s and women’s clothing as well as accessories, with a first runway collection for fall 2025. “My goal is to renew American elegance,” she told Le Monde in June 2025, translated from French. The role brought her material sensitivity into dialogue with an established American image. On October 15, 2026, Calvin Klein announced that their collaboration would end when her current contract expired, following four runway shows.
